These online services are increasingly available in the public health network. Of course, it will never be possible to offer everything remotely. Telehealth is there to complement the usual in-person services. What&#8217;s more, as a patient, you always have the choice of whether or not to use telehealth.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rqt-global-text rqt-bckg-blue\">\n<h3>The benefits of telehealth<\/h3>\n<p>Your healthcare activity takes place in your own home, saving you time, energy and money. What&#8217;s more, telehealth&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>improves <strong>access<\/strong> to:\n<ul>\n<li>your healthcare professional;<\/li>\n<li>your medical information;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>is <strong>secure<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>helps <strong>prevent<\/strong> certain types of emergency care;<\/li>\n<li>encourages <strong>active participation<\/strong> in managing your health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>We present five useful resources. It has been designed for patients and citizens curious to learn more. It explains, with definitions and examples, the different ways in which virtual care can be provided. The page&#8217;s illustrations and accessible language make it easy to understand the concepts.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"rqt-style-number-circle rqt-color-bleu-fonce\">2<\/span><em>Participate in a teleconsultation<\/em> page<\/h2>\n<p>The best-known telehealth activity is teleconsultation. It&#8217;s also known as a \u201cvirtual meeting\u201d or \u201cvideo call\u201d. It enables you to meet your healthcare professional remotely, using your computer or mobile device. More and more professionals are offering this option to simplify your life.<\/p>\n<p>If a teleconsultation is scheduled for you, you can prepare yourself for the meeting. Its aim is to facilitate access to a healthcare professional (doctor or specialist nurse). Appointments can be made&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>with your regular healthcare professional;<\/li>\n<li>with another healthcare professional in your family medicine group (GMF);<\/li>\n<li>with a nearby healthcare professional.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/portal3.clicsante.ca\/\"><strong>Clic <span class=\"rqt-nbsp\">sant\u00e9<\/span><\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"rqt-external-link-img\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/divi-child-cct\/icons\/lien-externe.svg\" alt=\"Ouverture d\u2019un lien externe\" width=\"12\" height=\"12\" \/><\/a> is a website that makes it easy to book an appointment for a health service. Several types of services are available, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vaccination;<\/li>\n<li>Blood sampling and screening;<\/li>\n<li>Pharmacy consultation;<\/li>\n<li>Medical imaging;<\/li>\n<li>Consultation with a professional (some of which offer teleconsultation).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that some services charge a fee. However, you can use the \u201cno fees\u201d option when making your search.<\/p>\n<h2>Connected health<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s now possible to use your computer or mobile device to obtain care, services and information remotely.<\/p>\n<p>The healthcare network is also integrating technologies by offering telehealth options to make services more accessible and make your life easier. A good example is <a href=\"\/en\/news\/provincial-teledermatology-deployment\/\">teledermatology<\/a>. The arrival of this service in 2022 has drastically reduced the waiting time for a consultation with a dermatologist.<\/p>\n<p>The forthcoming arrival of the Dossier sant\u00e9 num\u00e9rique (DSN) will be another important step in this direction. The DSN will make a patient&#8217;s medical history available to healthcare providers across Quebec, in real time.
